Dr Catherine Clark

Catherine supports individuals experiencing anxiety, low mood, hopelessness, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, guilt, panic, and OCD. Central to her approach is exploring with you, your past and present relationship patterns to build insight, shift unhelpful cycles, and understand where the past may still be holding you back. She works in a way that is authentic, steady, and compassionate, recognising how daunting it can feel to open up in therapy. Catherine aims to create a safe and thoughtful space from the very first session.

Therapeutic Models:

Dr Catherine Clark is a clinical psychologist with fifteen years of experience across a range of NHS services and is trained in multiple therapeutic approaches. Her work is grounded in forming a shared understanding of who you are, your history, relationships, and the patterns that have developed over time. Catherine supports individuals to approach challenges differently, develop emotional clarity, and move toward healthier, more compassionate ways of relating to themselves and others.

Catherine is also an accredited CAT therapist (cognitive analytic therapy), which combines cognitive and analytic approaches to balance practical, here-and-now strategies with deeper emotional and relational insight. She also experienced in providing brief, targeted intervention for single-issue concerns, whether an eating disorder, intrusive thoughts, panic episodes, or a repeating relational pattern you want to shift. Her CAT-informed and cognitive approaches help you understand the difficulty clearly and make practical changes that feel emotionally grounded.

She also offers specialist supervision in MANTRA, an evidence-based treatment for eating disorders. Catherine is a Senior Clinical Psychologist working at eating disorders outpatients at South London & Maudsley NHS Trust and in private practice. Catherine has worked across community, specialist, and multidisciplinary NHS teams and is experienced in supporting individuals with complex emotional and relational presentations.

Her style is thoughtful, warm, and steady and works with people to form a shared understanding of their difficulties and explore new ways of approaching them.  She understands how daunting it can feel to open up in therapy and aims to provide a space that feels safe, authentic, and caring.
