Why therapy?

At different points in our lives, the demands of work, study, family, relationships, health, or simply the pace of modern living can leave us feeling out of balance. You might notice yourself relapsing, feeling more tired, overwhelmed, withdrawn, or unsure of who you are or what you need. Relationships can feel strained, decisions harder, and day-to-day tasks more demanding.
These experiences are far more common than people realise and importantly, they are not your fault. Our emotions, histories, environments, and nervous systems all play a role in how we cope. Therapy offers a place to slow down, understand what’s happening, and begin to feel more grounded and in control.
How therapy can help?
Therapy is not about being told what to do. It’s about working together to develop insight, skills, and clarity. Talking with a trained therapist can help you:
-
Untangle the issues that are troubling you
-
Understand patterns in your relationships and emotional responses
-
Recognise triggers, warning signs, and maintaining cycles
-
Explore the impact of past experiences on your current wellbeing
-
Develop new coping strategies, communication skills, and ways of relating
-
Move toward the life and relationships you want and deserve
We take time to understand your whole story: your strengths, your struggles, and the systems around you. From there, we work together to develop a plan that feels meaningful, realistic, and supportive.
Our therapeutic approach
At Woven Health and Wellbeing, we recognise that people rarely come with a single, isolated difficulty. Anxiety may sit alongside low mood, trauma can influence relationships and coping, and eating difficulties often intertwine with identity, perfectionism, or neurodiversity. Because your experiences are complex and interconnected, we don’t expect you to fit into a single box, and we don’t believe your therapy should either.

We take a humanistic, person-centred approach, grounded in the belief that one size does not fit all. Your history, relationships, nervous system, and context shape how you feel and how you cope. Our role is to understand the whole person and tailor therapy to your needs, not the other way around.
Our clinicians draw on a wide range of evidence-based models, including:
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
-
Schema Therapy
-
Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT)
-
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
-
Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT)
-
Relational psychotherapy
-
Family-based interventions
-
Integrative and trauma-informed approaches
Rather than applying a single model rigidly, we blend approaches thoughtfully and collaboratively, adapting the work to your goals, your pace, and your readiness. This allows the process to feel flexible, steady, and supportive helping you gain both insight and the practical skills needed to move forward.
Specialist focus on women’s wellbeing
While we support people of all genders, we have particular expertise in helping women navigate life transitions, emotional overwhelm, relational challenges, and the unique pressures of modern womanhood. Our approach strengthens emotional resilience, supports healthier relationships, and builds confidence in managing change with clarity and compassion.
